Congratulations to Kimmy and Josh! They celebrated the start of their wonderful marriage this summer at The Gardenia Venue. Every detail from their wedding day was beautifully and intentionally thought out to create a classic, timeless, and overall joyful celebration. I’m still obsessed with their romantic sunset portraits! We had the most gorgeous golden-hour lighting that really brought their love to life.
The Gardenia was a beautiful backdrop for Kimmy and Josh’s wedding day. One of their favorite things they loved about the venue was how timeless it felt. This paired perfectly with their overall theme. The morning of their wedding it was pouring rain but, thankfully, the weather cleared up right before we started all of the outdoor portraits – perfect timing! Even through the unpredictable weather, we had the best time capturing beautiful photos of Kimmy, Josh and their wedding party throughout the day. I’m so excited to share my favorites from their wedding day!
October 7th, 2023 was a date that had been circled on the calendar for weeks! It was OU/TX weekend in Dallas. Josh’s family made the trip from California to experience a true football gameday in the south. Kimmy graduated from OU and was currently working for their Athletics department. This was a big week in general for her! Little did she know, Josh already had a full day planned after the game that Saturday.
After the football game, Kimmy was brought to White Rock Lake to meet with their families for “some photos”. She was then led to the boat dock where she saw a beautiful set up with roses and a ring box. Josh got down on one knee and asked Kimmy to be his wife. It was such a special and intimate moment with family nearby to celebrate with. They ended the evening with the best surprise engagement party and a champagne pop with all of their closests friends and family! They felt so loved, and it was truly the best weekend ever.
Prior to the ceremony, Kimmy and Josh decided not to do a first look. Instead, they did a first touch and gift exchange. It was such a beautiful moment filled with smiles, laughter, and jokes! When it came time for Kimmy to walk down the aisle, dad gave her one last glance and a smile. She then saw Josh for the first time. Josh was filled with so much excitement and couldn’t help but smile! Joining together through an act of worship, they celebrated their marriage with all of their family and friends. Following the ceremony, I captured fun and joyful photos of them with their wedding party and some beautiful newlywed portraits. This was my favorite!!
The reception was FULL of those feel-good party vibes! One of the most unique parts of their reception was the scoop cart! The bride’s brother handmade personal “his and hers” ice creams to give to the guests at the reception. This was such a fun and personal touch to the day. The dance floor was packed the entire night! Colorful glow stick wands and light up hats really brought the fun to their party. They ended their special day with a sparkler tunnel and a wave goodbye!
Cheers to the new Mr. & Mrs. Heller! Wishing you both all the best for this incredible adventure!
