In November of 2023, I was able to shoot my first wedding after maternity leave, and I was beyond excited to start the rest of my fall wedding season by celebrating Lindsay and Jordan’s stunning Fredericksburg wedding!
Anytime I get to travel outside of Dallas for a wedding, especially in the hill country, I get SO excited to explore something new in my favorite state.
From their outdoor ceremony overlooking Texas hill country to the insanely fun karaoke vibes at their reception, their wedding was nothing short of a perfect day. If you’re getting married in Fredericksburg, I highly recommend checking out Contigo Ranch for your wedding venue. (…and don’t forget to bring me with you to document the day!)
Contigo Ranch is definitely one of my new favorite venues in Texas. Located right outside of the heart of Fredericksburg, it’s the perfect spot to get married and invite your favorite people for a weekend getaway in one of the cutest towns in Texas!
The venue itself contains several buildings on the property, which is so convenient for hosting multiple people over the weekend. There are cute little cottages and cabins you can stay in overnight, which gives it a unique charm. This way you can separate the wedding party and guests for those that want to stay on the property! For Lindsay and Jordan’s wedding day, Lindsay and her bridesmaids got ready at the cottages while Jordan and the groomsmen got ready at the cabins. The reception building, called The Hall, is large with an outdoor patio perfect for cocktail hour. The bluff is where the ceremony took place. It’s a drive up to the top of the hill to see that beautiful overlook.
Lindsay and Jordan wanted their day to be captured in a way that represented them, the details, and their guests. They went with a timeless color palette of ivory and champagne, with touches of greenery. The venue itself is simply beautiful in its own way. They decided on a traditional wedding day without seeing each other until the ceremony, and the joyful tears were so sweet. It was a cloudier wedding day, but there was no rain at all. Then during the bride and groom portraits, the sun decided to pop out right at sunset, making the end of their portraits even more amazing.
The reception was split between the indoor and outdoor space at The Hall. Another perk of The Hall at Contigo Ranch – you can have an indoor/outdoor reception. Lindsay & Jordan’s was such a good time with tons of dancing and celebrating! They had two adorable wedding cakes, which fit their fun personalities. When the party really got going, they incorporated karaoke microphones for their guests to sing along while dancing. Such a great addition to get the guests involved in the dancing!
I put a lot of focus on documenting everything about the day, from the details and the venue to the candid moments and the wedding guests. It was a laid back day, and definitely the best way to kick off the end of my maternity leave. Lindsay and Jordan are the sweetest couple, and I loved working with them throughout the entire process.
Overall, the weather could not have been better for their outdoor ceremony and reception. It was a perfect fall day in Texas, and there wasn’t a drop of rain. The majority of the photos were outdoors, which is my absolute favorite! Yes, there should always be a backup plan for your ceremony and plans in case of rain… but luckily Lindsay and Jordan didn’t have to change anything! And like I said before, the sun popped out around their bride and groom portraits, which was actually perfect. Okay, the moment you’ve been waiting for… here is a glimpse into Lindsay & Jordan’s wedding day!
As you can see, Lindsay and Jordan’s wedding was absolutely stunning in every way. As their wedding photographer, I was so excited throughout the day because the views were amazing, the timeline wasn’t rushed, and they were such a fun couple to work with. They booked me for 10 hours, which was perfect here since the venue locations are very spread out (like driving from point A to point B). But I absolutely adore the hill country style wedding, and anytime I can take a trip to Fredericksburg aka Texas wine country, I’m in!
Now that I’m super familiar with Contigo Ranch, I would be SO excited to go back for another wedding. I am a Dallas-based wedding photographer, but I love traveling all over Texas to capture timeless weddings, big or small! So far, I have captured weddings in and around Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston, and Fredericksburg, and I want to expand that even more this year.
My approach to weddings is to create a mixture of timeless and candid images. I will guide you as needed during portraits, but I always keep an eye out for those in-between candid moments unfolding throughout a wedding day. I don’t typically “stage” things, but I will help you find the best spots for lighting purposes. Want to know a little more about me? Inquire about your wedding day, and we can meet over a Zoom call or coffee (my fave) to chat all about your wedding plans and become friends!
So like I said, if you’re planning your wedding and love this style venue, as well as timeless, true-to-life, and documentary style photography, seriously let me know! I would love to chat with you about your wedding vision and dream day! Lastly, check out the amazing vendor team below while planning your dream hill country wedding!
